    Software Engineer - Intern

At Broadway, we strive to build the next generation of thought leaders. As pioneers within our industry, we scour the globe to find outside-the-box thinkers, enthusiastic crafters, and brilliant self-starters—people who are naturally compelled to figure out what works, what doesn’t, and why. We focus on the things that matter. No stuffy corporate office. No dress code or business attire (unless that’s your thing). We build amazing software with some of the greatest thinkers around the world, and we love doing it.

    Your role….

Spend your summer with us in New York City! Our intern program will begin transforming what you have learned in the classroom into skills necessary to become a professional software engineer. No pushing paper or filling coffee mugs here. Our top execs and technical experts will teach you what we do and how we do it. You’ll work directly on the frontlines as part of the development team, creating and releasing Broadway product to our customers.

    Responsibilities:

    • Work in C#, JavaScript and related frameworks (Vue, Angular and React) to design, implement and deliver an exceptional UX experience for Broadway’s distributed Front-end applications.
    • Work in C++ and Python to design, implement, and release state-of-the-art components and applications for mission-critical, high performance, globally distributed systems related to automated trading
    • Produce exemplary code and deliver completed projects on time
    • Perform unit and system level testing on your application and all affected systems
    • Work closely with customer-facing technical consultants to ensure that development efforts truly meet customer needs
    • Work closely with technical leads to ensure effective coordination and integration between interrelated projects

    Traits:

    • Self-starter with ability to self-regulate and problem solve independently through obstacles in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
    • Results driven with a strong ownership mentality and drive to deliver on schedule; maintains realistic estimations and escalates proactively when necessary
    • Superior abstract thinking abilities
    • Motivated to learn about new industries, master new technologies, and push technological boundaries
    • Connects code to the business problems being solved and translates effectively across business and technical boundaries
    • Team player who openly shares information, helps others, and is open to new ideas and “going the extra mile” when needed

    Additional details:

    • Monthly housing stipend given to all interns
    • Roundtrip travel to and from New York City
    • Free lunch, snacks and drinks every work day
